Spanish in Costa Rica over winter break with Brett Smith

Description: Students will spend three weeks in San José, Costa Rica and will attend El Institúto Profesional de Español para Extranjeros (a private Spanish language learning school). Students will attend classes Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00. They will be taught by native Spanish teachers (all with degrees teaching Spanish as a second language) in classes with no more than 5 students. There will be two excursions: 1. To Puntarenas 2. To Jaco Beach. Students will live with host families and have the opportunity to explore many aspects of Costa Rican history and culture through various tours included in the package.

Payment Plan:

First Payment: Friday, October 28,  - $1000
Second Payment: Friday, November 18, -$1000
Final Payment: Friday, December 2, -$985
Student not enrolled in 12 hours in the spring must pay tuition for the 3 credits before departure.

Cancellation Policy:

The original downpayment is non-refundable due to the short time before the trip. Students who withdraw from the program on or after November 30th, 2011, will receive $500 of the $2000 deposit. At that point plane tickets will have been purchased, which are non-refundable. The last day to withdraw from the program and still receive any refund will be December 11, 2011. Students who withdraw before December 11, 2011 will receive $1,250 of the total program fee back. Shortly after December 11 a wire transfer will be made to the partner school in Costa Rica at which point the total funds will be non-recoverable.
