Description
The course is designed to introduce social work students to basic social practice looking at social issues confronting individuals living in the Dominican Republic. Participants will have the opportunity to assess, plan, and interview with members of a different culture within that country. Orphanage Outreach will provide in country support in the Dominican Republic including housing, facilitating volunteer efforsts, and providing general on-site coordination support. Participants will be in Monte Cristi in the northwest portion of the Dominican Republic. It is the provincial capital, but a small coastal fishing town.
