Accommodations for Special Needs
HANDICAPPED ACCOMMODATION
Handicapped parking permits can be obtained from Mrs. Jeanine Van Becelaere, Registrar's Secretary, Room 103, Russ Hall, prior to December 17. Handicapped parking will be available on the north side of the Weede Building. Graduating students in wheelchairs or who need special accommodation at Commencement should contact the Registrar at 620-235-4206. The first two rows of guest seating in Weede are reserved for the elderly and handicapped. Persons requiring this seating should arrive early and seek assistance from the ushers if needed. Doors are open for seating approximately 30 minutes prior to ceremony. Those with mobility concerns may be dropped off on Homer Street (northbound traffic lane) at the entrance to the Weede.
Safety Preparedness for Commencement Exercises
In accordance with the Kansas State Fire Marshall regulations, we request that you take a moment to identify two emergency exits closest to you as you arrive at the Weede Physical Education building. In case of emergency, pay close attention to the announcer for important safety information. Severe Weather Emergency Plan.
An ambulance will be parked at the southwest doors of the Weede Gymnasium during Commencement ceremonies. Refer any person needing medical assistance to the personnel stationed with the ambulance.
