Pittsburg State University Phi Kappa Phi Announces 2011 Initiates and Award Winners

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to announce the 2011 induction of 101 student initiates into the Phi Kappa Phi Chapter at Pittsburg State University, Chapter 213.  Their Initiation Ceremony was held at Pittsburg State University in the Overman Student Center at 3:00 p.m. on April 17, 2011.  Local chapter president, Randy Winzer, presided over the ceremony.  The program included opening remarks from Dr. Bill Ivy, Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Success and guest speaker Lisa Peterni, President of Pitsco Education and the 2011 Alumni Initiate.  See Induction at the right for a list of the student initiates.

Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 213 is proud to announce their Chapter 213 Award winner of 2011-2012, Vanessa Peach.   Vanessa is from Stockton, Missouri and is a 2008 Stockton High School graduate.  Vanessa will graduate from PSU in May with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics.  In the fall of 2011, she will begin working on a graduate degree in Mathematics at PSU.  Vanessa is president of the PSU chapter of the Mathematical Honor Society, Kappa Mu Epsilon and vice-president of the PSU Honors College Association.  She is also a member of Lambda Sigma, the PSU Honors College, and the Mathematical Association of America.  Vanessa is the daughter of Tim and Mary Peach.

Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 213 is also proud to announce their 2011 Faculty/Staff and Alumni Initiates.  The 2011 Pittsburg State University Faculty initiates are John T. Ikeda Franklin, Associate Professor, English Department and Douglas L. Younger, Associate Professor, Graphics and Imaging Technologies.  The 2011 Pittsburg State University Alumni Initiate is Melissa A. Paterni, President of Pitsco Education and Lecturer in the PSU Management & Marketing Department.
