Congratulations Katelyn Flood on receiving a 2017 Fellowship from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Katelyn FloodPittsburg State University's Phi Kappa Phi fellowship nominee Katelyn Flood was selected a recipient for the annual Fellowship.  Katelyn graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, with minors in chemistry and physical science and is member of the Phi Kappa Phi Chapter #213 at Pittsburg State University. She will be continuing her education towards a doctorate of optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

During her time at Pittsburg State University, Katelyn has been an active member of the Honors College (serving as the senior class representative this past year) as well as the Newman Club (serving as the Executive chair this past year and financial chair the two previous years). She has also participated in the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society (Vice President), Lambda Sigma Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Pre-Med Club and Biology Club. She has been actively involved in community service through these organizations, as well as participating in a medical mission trip to rural Argentina last summer. In addition, she has been a student employee both on campus in the Intercollegiate Athletics Administration office and as an optometry technician at Wimmer Vision Care in Pittsburg. Katelyn is the daughter of Tim and Chris Flood of Pittsburg, Kansas.?

Katelyn joins the ranks of seven other Pitt State graduates that have received a PKP Fellowship through our local chapter.  The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty-one Fellowships of $5,000 each and six at $15,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study
