Performance Management Process - Mid-Year Discussion & Coaching Progress

Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress will be done April 1st through June 30th.

The supervisor and employee will meet to:
• Discuss the employee's performance as it relates to the performance management factors.
• Discuss progress toward meeting goals and objectives. Add new or revise current goals and objectives as needed.
• Document Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress.

Supervisor documents the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress. To access the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress in GUS, log into GUS, click on "Payroll-Personnel Information," then "Classified Employee Performance Management Process." Click on "Mid-Year Progress" under Mid-Year Discussion.

The supervisor will then document what occurred during the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress. Click on "Submit" when complete. This will send email notification to the employee. The employee can now access the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress online by logging to GUS, click on "Classified Employee Management Process," and click on "View" under Mid-Year Discussion. The employee will have a chance to add comments. Note: Once the employee clicks "Submit" the employee will not be able to add comments.

If using a paper form, the supervisor will need to print the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress form. This form will have comment boxes and signature blocks for the employee and supervisor. The supervisor will document what occurred during the Mid-Year Discussion and Coaching Progress in the top comment box and then sign. The employee will then have a chance to add comments in the bottom box and sign the paper form. The supervisor will give a copy of the form to the employee and send the original to HRS.
