Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Record Keeping

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires that records be kept on both non-exempt and exempt employees. Much of the required information, such as name, social security number, address, date of birth, sex, occupation, earnings and hours worked are kept in the university's electronic database.

Records of time worked and leave taken must be retained for 5 years.

A Compensatory Time Agreement is also kept for non-exempt employees.
