Mandatory Direct Deposit of Paycheck
(updated 7/12/2010)
The Kansas Department of Administration has announced the implementation of mandatory direct deposit for employee paychecks effective October 1, 2010. PSU will be making the transition to 100% direct deposit at the beginning of the academic year.
All employees who currently receive a paper paycheck must sign up for direct deposit. There are two options for setting up direct deposit.
1) Existing Checking or Savings Account - Employees need to complete the "Authorization for Direct Deposit of Employee Pay" which is available on the HRS web site under Forms Online - Direct Deposit Form or in the HRS office, 204 Russ Hall. Please attach a voided check or deposit slip from the checking or savings account to the form to verify your banking information. The form provides employees with the ability to distribute net pay to a maximum of nine different bank accounts.
2) Skylight Paycard - Employees without an existing checking or savings account will be required to sign up for a Skylight Paycard provided by Skylight Financial, Inc. (associated with U. S. Bank). Contact HRS for additional information on the Skylight Paycard.
All employees, including student employees, must have direct deposit on file in HRS by Friday, September 3, 2010. Student employees without a direct deposit on file after that date will be terminated from payroll and will have to be reappointed through the Electronic Student Appointment Process. All new employees will be required to provide direct deposit information before the employees will be entered into the personnel/payroll system.
