Appointment Dates for
Academic Year 2009-2010
and Fiscal Year 2010

Dr. Steven A. Scott has established the dates for academic year appointments.

All new tenure earning allocations and appointments should use the following dates: August 18, 2009, through May 15, 2010

All new full-time non-tenure earning allocations and appointments should use the following dates: August 18, 2009, through May 15, 2010

All returning nine-month faculty will be appointed with the following dates: August 20, 2009, through May 15, 2010

Part-time section appointments should use the following dates:
Academic Year: August 18, 2009, through May 15, 2010
Fall Semester only: August 18, 2009, through December 18, 2009
Spring Semester only: January 13, 2010, through May 15, 2010

Graduate Teaching Assistants should use the following dates:
Academic Year: August 20, 2009, through May 15, 2010
Fall Semester only: August 20, 2009, through December 18, 2009
Spring Semester only: January 13, 2010, through May 15, 2010

New Faculty Orientation will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 (for new tenure earning faculty only) and Wednesday, August 19, 2009 (for both new tenure earning and new non-tenure earning faculty).

Opening Faculty Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009.

Departmental meetings will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009.

IMPORTANT Pay Date Information:
Academic Year appointments will have 20 pay dates (September 4, 2009 through May 28, 2010).
Fall Semester only appointments will have only 10 pay dates (September 4, 2009, through January 8, 2010). **
Spring Semester only appointments will have only 9 pay dates (February 5, 2010, through May 28, 2010). **

**Note: there is a 1 pay period break between the Fall and Spring semester appointments, with no salaries paid.

All returning fiscal year appointments will be appointed with the following dates: June 14, 2009, through June 12, 2010

New fiscal year appointments should be appointed with the following dates: June 15, 2009, through June 12, 2010

Those employed as of Sunday, June 14, 2009, or Monday, June 15, 2009, will receive their first paycheck on July 10, 2009, the first pay date in Fiscal Year 2010. If an actual start date is later than June 15, 2009, wages will be prorated using the fiscal year rate for time worked.
