I am happy to announce that PSU Graduate and Continuing Studies will be honoring two faculty members with scholarship awards at the PSU Graduate School and Research Awards Banquet on April 15, 2015. Awards will be given for Outstanding Faculty Scholarship and Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor.
To nominate a faculty member for the Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award please send a letter outlining the activities which you believe demonstrate superior faculty scholarship efforts including: 1) a summary describing the scholarly project(s); 2) a description of the nominees presentations and publications in the last three years; 3) an explanation of evidence that the scholarly activity has a potential impact in lay and/or scholarly communities. Other information you would like to provide about the nominee related to scholarly activity is also welcome.
To nominate a faculty member for the Undergraduate Research Mentor Award please send a letter outlining the research mentor activities which you believe demonstrate the nominees commitment to mentoring student research, examples include: 1) a summary describing the student research project(s) mentored by the nominee; 2) a description of presentations and publications co-authored by students the nominee has mentored in the last three years; 3) achievements students mentored by the nominee have made that could be attributed in part to their research experiences. Other information you would like to provide about the nominee related to research is also welcome.
Letters should be no more than three pages using 12 point font in PDF format. Please submit nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 1, 2015.
Nominations are welcome from department chairs, faculty or students. Thank you for your support in honoring PSU faculty for their scholarly efforts.
