TOEFL and IELTS Information

In order to begin a graduate program at Pittsburg State University, all International students must submit an official, passing TOEFL or IELTS score to the Office of Continuing and Graduate Studies. Students who do not submit such a score will be required to enroll in and complete PSU's Intensive English Program (IEP), prior to beginning any graduate coursework.* For additional information regarding IEP, please visit: http://www.pittstate.edu/iep

*Applicants to the English, Psychology and Counseling or Teaching (ESOL Emphasis) programs will not be admitted without a passing TOEFL score. IEP is not accepted for admission to these programs.

Procedures for Submitting Test Scores to PSU:

TOEFL: Contact ETS and request that your score be sent to PSU electronically. Our university code is 6336. You do not need to enter a departmental code. Please visit their site for more information: www.ets.org/toefl

Minimum Score Requirements for Graduate School Admission**

IELTS 6.0

IELTS requires a minimum of 6.0 for the overall score and in each band.

**Some Programs require higher test scores for admission. These programs and scores are listed below:
