2015 Graduate School Research Awards

Over 100 undergraduate and graduate students participated in the PSU Research Colloquium on April 8, 2015 at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. Thirty-four oral presentations and 54 research posters were presented. There were projects from Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Technology and Workforce Learning, School of Construction, Communication, Economics, English, Nursing, Psychology, Business Administration, Art, and Graphics and Imaging Technology. Awards were presented at the 2015 Graduate School and Research Awards Banquet held on April 15, 2015. An award was given for every five entries to graduate and undergraduate students for oral and poster presentation in the following categories:

Category A: Undergraduate Poster 1st Place: Blaze Heckert; 2nd Place: Deaven Thompson; 3rd Place: Mayuri Murali, Peyton Drouhard, Markel West, Mitchell Floyd and Lyle Lichtenauer, Undergraduate Oral Presentation 1st Place: Kyle Ragen, Aaron Noack, Tyler Casteel, Nick Crain, and Brendan Herrera, Graduate Poster 1st Place: Jeremy McClennan; 2nd Place: Samantha Meneely, Graduate Oral Presentation 1st Place: Jyothi Kallu; 2nd Place: Nelson Elbers

Category B: Undergraduate Poster 1st Place: Crystal Davis; Undergraduate Oral Presentation 1st Place: Elizabeth Spencer; Graduate Poster 1st Place: Justin Newman; Graduate Oral Presentation 1st Place: Valquiria Vita

Faculty Awards

 

Provost Olson and Dr. Santra PSU faculty participate in a broad range of scholarly activity including basic research, applied research, development of best practices for teaching and learning and creative works to name a few. In order to recognize faculty who are engaged in outstanding scholarship and outstanding mentoring of students conducting research, the Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award and Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor Award were presented at the PSU Graduate School and Research Awards Banquet on April 15, 2015. The nominees for the awards were Dr. David Hurford, Psychology & Counseling; Dr. Sang-Heui Lee, Management & Marketing; Dr. Ram Gupta, Chemistry; Dr. Santimukul Santra, Chemistry; Dr. Stephen Harmon, History; and Dr. Mike Carper, HHPR, Dr. Jody Neef, Chemistry. The winner of the Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award was Dr. Ram Gupta. The winner of the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor Award was Dr. Santimukul Santra. Thank you to all the faculty who conduct scholarly activity that enriches the campus for our students!
