However the free version of Malwarebytes does not include a real time scanner. This means that you have to manually scan your computer. Spybot Search and Destroy A veteran in the war against malware. This program is also a freeware program. However it must also be manually ran every time you need to use it. Spybot also has an immunize feature which will block known spyware sites so that you can't browse to them. * AntiVirus *It is not recommended to have more than one AntiVirus installed at a time. AVG Is a free antivirus program with real time scanning. AVG is also one of the most popular free antivirus programs out there today. The catch with AVG is that it's free version only offers limited protection; in order to be fully protected you have to buy the full version. Microsoft Security Essentials is a free lightweight antivirus program that is developed by Microsoft. Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is growing in popularity and is still a fairly new antivirus program. Avast is another free antivirus program with a paid pro version. Avast is known as one of the better free antivirus programs out there.

ClanXavA free virus checker which can perform full system scans or analyze specific files or folders.Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.
VirusBarrier Express is a free Mac application that protects Mac users from viruses, Trojan horses, and other types of malware. In addition, it detects Windows malware, so they are not passed on. This application lets users run manual scans of any file, folder, or volume on their Mac. Requirements: Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
SophosAnti-Virus protects Mac users from viruses, Trojans, and worms. Sophos is not real time protection meaning you must run the scans manually. Sophos gives you the option to set up custom scans for specific files, folders, or volumes. Sophos detects Windows' threats as well. Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
