It's that time again; time to file your FAFSA!
Starting January 1, 2012, the Department of Education's FAFSA website will be ready for students to complete the 2012-2013 FAFSA. Items needed to complete the FAFSA application include:
- Social Security Number
- Driver's License Number
- 2011 W-2's Forms
- 2011 Federal Income Tax Return
- FAFSA PIN
If you are a dependent student you will also need your parent's 2011 financial information (2011 W-2 forms and Federal Income Tax Return).
If you or your parents will not complete your tax return until a later time, do not wait to file the FAFSA. The FAFSA can be completed using estimated tax information and be updated once the tax return has been completed. For those that have their taxes filed, it is recommended that you use the FAFSA-IRS Data Retrieval process if possible. This process is an easy and secure way to obtain tax information needed on the FAFSA from the IRS directly, allowing you to complete the FAFSA faster and more accurately.

Complete your application by February 1 of each year for the following fall semester.
