Strengthening the University
The Campaign for Pitt State is a $120 million fundraising effort that is strengthening the University today and for future generations.
The campaign is comprehensive, reaching all areas of the University. Alumni, friends, corporate partners, and foundations are providing support for academic program enhancements, faculty development, equipment, and new facilities.
Launched in 2000, the 10-year campaign has two phases:
Phase One
The $25 million Phase One, completed in 2005, has:
- Increased the endowment for student scholarships, doubling the amount provided to PSU.
- Provided endowed funds for the university to support the Faculty of Distinction Program and Faculty/Student Development.
- Created new funding for International Student Program development and international student scholarships.
Phase Two
With a $95 million goal, Phase Two focuses on campus infrastructure. It is supporting:
- The Bicknell Sports Complex (Completed)
- The Veterans Memorial Amphitheater (Completed)
- Carnie Smith Stadium Renovation and Expansion Phase I and Phase II (Completed)
- The Kansas Polymer Research Center (Completed)
- The Student Recreation Center/Pittsburg Armory (Completed)
- The Jungletron (Completed)
- A new Student Health Center (Groundbreaking 10/17/08- opening Fall 2009)
- A new Fine and Performing Arts Center
- A new home for the College of Business
- An addition to Weede Hall
- A new Diesel and Heavy Equipment Building

Support for the Campaign for Pitt State from alumni, parents, faculty and staff, and friends has been nothing short of remarkable. We have raised more than $100 million as of June 30, 2009, already making this the most successful fundraising effort in the university's history.
Our goal is in sight, but there is much more work to do.
