The University Assessment Committee
Pittsburg State University’s Assessment Committee is charged with providing ongoing data, information, and recommendations on all aspects of student learning. This committee focuses primarily on assessment of student learning within the framework of the general education goals, student learning within the degree programs, the assessment of learning within all co-curricular units, and the learning environment. The committee also assesses student engagement with the institution and student satisfaction with the university as it relates to student learning.
A faculty member serves as the Chair of the Assessment Committee. Membership includes five faculty members (one from each college, except for Arts and Sciences, which has two), five department chairs (one from each college except for Arts and Sciences, which has two), one representative from Library Services, one dean, one representative from Campus Life and Auxiliary Services, the Vice-President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Director of Facilities Planning, one member from University Advancement, and the Director of Assessment. The President and the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with the Institutional Effectiveness Committee Chair and the Special Assistant to the Provost for Higher Learning Commission Accreditation, serve as ex-officio members of this committee.
