Mathematics:  Adam Pintar, a native of Arcadia Kansas who completed his B.S. in 2003 and his M.S. in 2004 under the tutelage of Professor Ananda Jayawardhana, has been awarded "The Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship" at Iowa State  University, where he is pursuing his PhD.

This scholarship is given to one or two outstanding students doing research in the area of quality and productivity.  Winners receive a $2500 grant and a $500 stipend toward housing, travel, and other expenses associated with the Quality Productivity Research Conference where Adam presented his findings last June.  The scholarship is funded by the Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship Fund and the Quality and Productivity Section of the ASA.

Adam would like to find a job where he can work on consulting projects and research. He has spent the last two summers at Los Alamos Lab in New Mexico. He plans to graduate in May 2010.
