PSU Wind Ensemble shares the stage

The Pittsburg State University Wind Ensemble will share the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts stage with a noted high school ensemble for its next concert, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7.

The PSU musicians will do a side-by-side concert with the Blue Valley Southwest High School Wind Ensemble.

“They are without question one of the very strongest high school band programs in the State of Kansas,” said Craig Fuchs, who directs the PSU Wind Ensemble.

Fuchs said the Blue Valley Southwest ensemble will perform the first half of the concert and PSU will perform the second half.

“These side-by-side concerts provide many benefits, not the least of which is the possible recruitment of outstanding high school musicians for our program and the opportunity for their ensembles to get to play in a world-class performance venue such as the Bicknell Center,” Fuchs said.

The concert is free and open to the public.
