PSU honors veterans Nov. 11

Pittsburg State University will honor veterans and their families in a ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at the PSU Veterans Memorial. Veterans and their families will be joined in the observance by sixth graders from Pittsburg Community Middle School and St. Mary’s Elementary School. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

Veterans and their families will be joined in the observance by sixth graders from Pittsburg Community Middle School and St. Mary’s Elementary School. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Tim Senecaut, director of custodial and general services for the PSU Physical Plant. Senecaut, a PSU graduate, is a retired Army colonel whose numerous military assignments include service in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Participants in the observance also include PSU President Steve Scott, PSU ROTC, Father David Voss, and the St. Mary’s Elementary School Choir.

In addition to recognizing all veterans in attendance, special recognition will be given to the 20 veterans for whom new pavers have been installed in the memorial.
