Authentic German cuisine will be featured at Pittsburg State University this week as part of Sodexo’s Global Chef program.
On Feb. 16 and 17, German chef Murat Er will visit Pitt State to prepare some of his favorite foods from his native Germany. Er will prepare German specialties from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Nudles inside the Overman Student Center. Er will be at the Gibson Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 17.
Food items available will include Octoberfest pork with cabbage and dumplings, semolina porridge, spaetzele, dienele (flatbread) with bacon and onions and Cherry Michael Sweet Cake.
Er’s visit to Pitt State is part of the Sodexo Global Chef initiative, which aims to provide authentic native cuisine and culture to select cafes and dining halls in which Sodexo provides food service. North American Sodexo has welcomed chefs from Peru, China, Malaysia, Russia, The United Arab Emirates and more.
