A number of events are planned on the PSU campus Oct. 14-20 to observe Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week. The theme of this year's campaign is "Be an everyday hero" and the events are designed to contain messages of personal responsibility as well as the importance of taking care of friends.
Alcohol Awareness Week is sponsored by Gorillas In Your Midst, SafeRide, the Substance Abuse Focus Group, Student Prevention & Wellness, PSU ROTC, the Kansas National Guard, PSU Graduate Student Nurses, Student Health Services, & Campus Activities.
Activities begin on Thursday, Oct. 14, with a climbing wall set up from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Lindburg Plaza.
On Friday, students will be invited to play "Alcohol Jeopardy" for prizes from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Overman Student Center.
On Saturday, Oct. 16, students will staff a drinking and driving awareness booth from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the east side of Brandenburg Stadium.
On Monday, Oct. 18, students are invited to participate in a jousting game from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Lindburg Plaza.
The Alcohol Jeopardy game returns on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 19-20, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Overman Student Center.
