Bridgestone grant supports auto tech program

The Automotive Technology program at Pittsburg State recently got a significant boost from an industry partner.

Representatives from Bridgestone/Firestone visited Pittsburg State this month to donate $10,000 to the university's automotive technology department. The grant is part of the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund program.

The funds will be used to support educational programming in Pitt State's automotive technology department.

"The Automotive Technology Department appreciates this industry support which allows for enhanced educational opportunities and scholarships for PSU automotive students that could not be afforded otherwise," said Bob Frisbee, chair of the auto tech department.

Frisbee and Assistant Professor Steve Polley accepted the donation on behalf of the auto tech department. Presenting the check were Bridgestone's Ken Powers and David Messer.
