January might not be the best season for a drive-in movie, so Pittsburg State University’s Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations will host a free “Dive-In” movie for families on Friday, Jan. 20, at the indoor pool in the Garfield Weede building.
The office will show “Finding Dory” at 7 p.m. Friday in the newly renovated pool area. Open swim begins and 6 p.m. Because space is limited, registration is required and will be capped at 75. Outside snacks and drinks are prohibited, but concessions will be available at the event.
Director Jon Bartlow said the office’s free movies in Carnie Smith Stadium have been immensely popular.
“But just because it’s cold outside shouldn’t mean we can’t enjoy a family movie together,” Bartlow said.
Bartlow said adult supervision is required for all children. He pointed out that there is no shallow end in the pool, so parents should bring the appropriate floating devices for children who require them. Lifeguards will be on duty.
