Opera Workshop

The Opera Workshop and Opera Theatre are two performing arms of the Department of Music at Pittsburg State University.

The Opera Workshop provides classroom educational experiences in stagecraft, makeup, and acting for the lyric stage in addition to small scale performances. Opera Workshop performances are held in the auditorium of McCray Hall and on tour in area schools.

The Opera Theater combines Opera Workshop with talent from the local community for larger productions in the Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium. The Southeast Kansas Symphony gives Opera Theatre its services for biennial productions.

Auditions for leading roles and chorus parts are open to all PSU students.
