Find the student's Mathematics ACT and go down that column until you arrive at the row which best describes the student's High School mathematics background. The mathematics courses which would be appropriate for your student are listed by number in that cell. If a student did well in the HS mathematics courses, then you might choose the higher numbered courses, otherwise it would be wise to choose the lower numbered courses.

Target Audience for Courses:
MATH 019 - Intermediate Algebra - intended for those with some algebra
background who need more work in algebra before taking Math 110 College Algebra with Review.
This is a 4 hour course which meets M-F for 60 days.
MATH 110 - College Algebra with Review - a 5 hour course which meets
M-F - intended for those who have a chance of successfully completing College
Algebra at a slower pace than is done in MATH 113. Only 3 hours count toward
a degree.
MATH 113 - College algebra.
MATH 122 - Plane Trigonometry.
MATH 126 - Pre-Calculus - intended for students who will eventually have
to take MATH 150 Calculus I or MATH 153 Introduction to Analytical Processes,
and whose algebra/trigonometry skills are pretty good, but not quite good
enough for either 150 or 153. This is a good course for those who want to
brush up on their trigonometry and do not have a lot of confidence, even
though their ACT score and HS work look good.
MATH 133 - Quantitative Reasoning - This course is for students needing a general education course in
mathematics. It does NOT prepare students for other math classes and it is
NOT intended for students planning to major in a field that requires advanced
mathematical skills.
MATH 143 - Elementary Statistics
MATH 150 - Calculus I
MATH 153 - Introduction to Analytical Processes - This is the business
calculus course.
