Position Responsibilities: Pittsburg State University seeks an experienced professional to serve as its Director of International Programs and Services. This individual provides leadership for a comprehensive International Programs and Services Office that administers and supports all international programs at Pittsburg State University including international recruitment, undergraduate international student admissions, study abroad programming, international student programming and immigration advising for both international students and scholars. The Director also provides administrative leadership and support for the Intensive English Program (IEP), coordinates campus internationalization initiatives such as exchange agreements, hosts international visitors on campus, and fosters relationships with foreign universities and governments, as well as other agencies that focus on international education. The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success in the Division of Academic Affairs. The Director will work collaboratively with faculty members and academic affairs and campus life administrators throughout the University.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Three years administrative leadership experience in higher education that included personnel supervision and budgetary responsibilities. Knowledge of issues and trends in international education. Sound working knowledge of international recruiting strategies, admission processes and immigration policies and procedures. Exceptional interpersonal, written communication and public speaking skills. Strong commitment to serving students and working collaboratively with faculty and campus administrative units.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of best practices in intensive English programs. Experience living or studying abroad. Proficiency in a modern foreign language are preferred.
