Group Study Abroad Programs
PSU faculty lead several groups of students abroad every year. Often these programs are related to a course or a major field of study. These programs are a great options for PSU students. Many of the programs take place during vacation times such as summer or winter break. If you have not traveled overseas before these programs are a great first experience.

These are programs that have been offered in the past. If one of these programs interests you, contact the faculty leader to see if they are planning another program in the future.
Individual Study Abroad Programs
If you want to spend a summer, semester, or year studying overseas, check out these options. You may be the sole representative of PSU in your program. You will study with other American and/or international students. In some programs, you will be in class with the local students. Be aware of the language of instruction, the course options, and the location as you choose a program. Final approval of the program will be given from the PSU Study Abroad Committee.
This is a complete list of programs that PSU suggests students choose. The list includes our sister (exchange) universities and some language programs associated with these universities, PSU in Paraguay, PSU affiliate programs, and the University of Kansas Study Abroad Programs.
Studying on exchange has many advantages. PSU has agreements with these universities abroad. We have students from their universities attending PSU. You have the opportunity as a PSU student to study at their university. You will continue to pay PSU tuition during your summer, semester, or year at the exchange university. You will pay room and board through the host institution. You will be attending as a visiting student and be enrolled in class with local students. The International Office at the host university along with PSU study abroad will support you during your time overseas. Students who apply for non-English speaking exchange universities where the language of instruction is a language taught at PSU must have a recommendation from the Modern Languages and Literatures department. If the language of the host institution is not taught at PSU, contact the study abroad coordinator.
Summer & other short term study opportunities

How would you like to complete some of your PSU General Education requirements in Paraguay? PSU in Paraguay is just what it sounds like. PSU faculty spend three to four weeks in Asuncion, Paraguay teaching one of the general education courses. The courses are taught in English. You will take at least one course while you are there. You will be in class with both Paraguayan students planning to transfer to PSU and PSU students who have chosen to study in Paraguay. You will stay with Paraguayan host families. This is a great summer study abroad option!
In order to apply to participate in this program, admitted PSU students will follow the application process for individual study abroad programs.
If you are a non-PSU student, you will need to apply to PSU as a non-degree seeking student. You can access this application through our Admissions page. There is a $30 application fee. When you work with the admissions counselor, tell them you are applying for PSU in Paraguay.
Affiliate Programs
If our group study abroad programs, exchanges, and PSU in Paraguay don't fit your needs, PSU is affiliated with the following programs. This gives you special consideration for admission if you meet the requirements and certain scholarships. Talk with the study abroad coordinator for details.
Programs not on the suggested list
Students are still able to seek out study abroad programs that are not on the suggested list if these programs do not fit their needs and interests. However, they will need to complete a Petition form so the program can be reviewed for quality of academics, on-site support, health and safety procedures, etc.
Other Programs
If our group study abroad programs, exchanges, PSU in Paraguay, and affiliates don't fit your needs, you are welcome to seek out a program through another university or study abroad organization. Be sure the program fits your needs. Here are some links to help you on this search.
