University of Jyvaskyla: Jyvaskyla Summer School in Human Sciences 2008

Helsinki School of Economics: Information Technology Program 2008
Location: Helsinki, Finland

Brief description:
The Information Technology Program (ITP) is to provide students with a strong applied understanding of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT). The program provides the necessary tools, concepts and approaches that enable students with diverse backgrounds to operate effectively in the global business environment.
The program consists of two simultaneous subprograms with different areas of concentration. Students can participate in only one of the subprograms during the same summer. The subprograms of ITP in 2008 will be: Business & Technologies and Content & Media. Both subprograms are worth 24 ECTS credits.
The program is targeted at HSE's basic degree students, MBA students, students from JOO universities and exchange students interested in ICT.

Germany

TU Bergakademie Freiberg: International Summer School on Sustainable Energy
Location: Freiberg, Germany

Brief description:
This is the fifth annual five week interdisciplinary summer course in sustainable energy technology. Students interested in sustainable energy technology, advanced or graduate studies in engineering, and German language and culture that are in at least their third year of university studies and fluent in English should consider this program. Students will become acquainted with the most recent technological developments related to sustainable energies as well as current technological solutions that are widely used. Excursions to relevant companies and research institutions are an important part of the course. For students who are interested in improving their German, there is an optional German course. Kyung Hee University: Penn-Kyung Hee Collaborative 2008 Summer Program

Brief description:
The Penn-Kyung Hee Program strives to promote better understanding of the East Asian region and the world, in conjunction with current quests for "multiculturalism" and "global trust." It integrates education, research and practice. The program offers 4 weeks of intensive sessions in which students can take a maximum of 2 courses. The courses are centered on Global Governance and East Asian Civilization. Course will be taught in the areas of Economics and Business, Society and Global Relations, and Nature, Science & People. Taiwan

Southern Taiwan University (STUT)
Location: Suburb of Tainan City, Taiwan
Dates: August 24 to September 6, 2008

Brief Description:
This program is designed to introduce Chinese language and Taiwanese culture to students who are interested in the beauties of Asiea with the hope to enhance the cultural exchange and intercommunication between Southern Taiwan University and international students. Chinese courses are offered in the morning and in the afternoon there are many interesting cultural visits. There is also a two day and one night trip to the a famous tourist spot in the area.
