Homecoming 2014

October 5 - October 11, 2014

For more than a century, Pittsburg State University has welcomed its alumni and friends back to campus with its Homecoming celebration.

Homecoming is more than a single football game; it is a time for students and alumni to reconnect with friends, family and traditions.

Whether it’s Convocation, Yell Like Hell or Saturday’s football game, we hope you are able to enjoy the many traditions that make up this year’s Homecoming at Pittsburg State.


Monday, October 3

Kickoff Night
6:00 pm, Gorilla Village
Rain site: Robert W. Plaster Center
Top 12 King and Queen Candidates Please be onsite by 5:15pm.

Carnival Rides, Games, and food with the candidates stationed at different activities.

Tuesday, October 4

Online Voting for King & Queen Opens
8:00 am, GUS System
(Under Ballots, Surveys and Voter Registration)

Gorilla Games

Location and Time TBD.

Participating Groups will play a bracket-style game of Laser Tag.

Wednesday, October 5

Online Voting for King & Queen Continues

Open voting in the oval for any student to log in and vote for Homecoming King and Queen.

Thursday, October 6

Online Voting for King & Queen Closes
12:00 pm

Yell Like Hell/Convocation
7:00 pm, East Side of Carnie Smith Stadium
Rain site: Weede Gymnasium

Friday, October 7

Taste of Pittsburg*
Location and Time TBD.

Saturday, October 8

Gorilla Grind 5K
7:30 am, In front of the Weede.  Registration begins at 6:30 pm. *$25 registration fee and free t-shirts for first 50 registrants.

Homecoming Parade
9:00 am, Downtown Pittsburg

11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Gorilla Village

Football Game - PSU vs. Fort Hayes State
2:00 pm, Carnie Smith Stadium
