On or before your first day at work:
1. Complete the following required paperwork and bring with you to the Office of Human Resource Services, 204 Russ Hall:
Substance Abuse Policy Affirmation Form
2. Complete the following optional paperwork and bring with you to HRS:
3. Prepare to complete the following required paperwork in the Office of Human Resource Services by reviewing the following topics:
I-9 Form - please bring appropriate identification
Life Insurance Beneficiary Forms - bring names, addresses and date of birth of beneficiaries
Group Health Insurance Enrollment Form - (please note that there is a 60-day waiting period for participation in the Group Health Insurance Program) bring names, social security numbers, date of birth and proof of relationship (marriage license, birth certificates) of spouse/dependents to be enrolled in GHI
KanElect Flexible Spending Enrollment Form
4. Obtain the following in HRS:
- Benefits Information and Options Booklet
- Disability Income Benefit Plan Booklet
- Life Insurance Contract
- Application for Optional Group Life Insurance (Employee Paid) - this application must be completed by the employee and returned to Minnesota Life
- On-the-Job Accidents and Workers Compensation
- University Police Brochure
5. Obtain a PSU Parking Hanger from the University Police and Parking Services Office. Fees for parking vary according to Zone. Click here for more information regarding University Police and Parking Services
6. Review the following topics on the HRS Website:
Payroll Information
Payroll is processed on a biweekly basis. All employees (Classified, Unclassified, Graduate Assistants and Students) with Direct Deposit will have their paycheck stubs mailed to their home address from Topeka. Paychecks without Direct Deposit will be mailed to their home address.

During your first week at work:
1. Obtain a PSU Photo Identification Card from the Ticket Office located in the Overman Student Center.
2. Obtain a Computing System Login, E-Mail address and GUS Pin from the Office of Information Systems located in 109 Whitesitt Hall.
3. Review the Benefits Summary
4. Meet with your supervisor to review your position description. Also establish goals for your 6 month review period.
5. Review and/or complete the following optional paperwork and return to the appropriate PSU Office.
