Bibliography

Scott Gorman is a University Professor and serves as Graduate Coordinator of the Master of Science Program for the Health, Human Performance and Recreation Department at Pittsburg State University. Scott has an Ed.D. from the University of Georgia, a Master of Arts Degree from Western Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Elon College. He has thirteen publications in American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) related newsletters and journals and has given over eighty-five presentations at Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (KAHPERD), Central District Association of the American Alliance of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation and Dance (CDAAAHPERD) and has served on the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) Executive Board. Scott is currently on the KAHPERD Executive Council, the CDAAAHPERD Board and is Co-Chair of the National Student Services Committee for AAHPERD.

For his service to the HPERD profession, he has been awarded the following:

NASPE Joy of Effort Award (2004)
AAHPERD Honor Fellows Award (2002)
KAHPERD Honor Award (1995)
CDAAAHPERD Honor Award (1996)

Scott is also highly active in the Pittsburg community. He has 15 years experience as a Hunter Education Instructor for the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Association. He served 10 years as President of the Crawford County AHA and a member of the Pittsburg Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Finally, Scott coached college baseball at Western Carolina University and at Berry College. He has used this background to both umpire and coach youth baseball. He has served 10 years as the Pittsburg Post 64 American Legion General Manager and spent six years as Head Coach.
