Bibliography
Dr. Bill Stobart teaches classes in Recreation Administration, Design of Recreation Facilities, Management Strategies in Recreation, and Commercial Recreation at the undergraduate level and Methods of Recreation and at the graduate level at Pittsburg State University. He earned a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in HPER from Pittsburg State University and a doctorate in HPER with an emphasis in Recreation from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association (KRPA), the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (AAHPERD), and the National Association for Kinesiology and Physical Education in Higher Education (NAKPEHE).
Dr. Stobart has previously taught Health, Driver Education, and Physical Education in elementary, middle school, and high schools in Kansas. He has also taught at Middle Tennessee State University, the University of Kansas, and the University of South Dakota. He has worked in the private sector in the sport entertainment business.
Dr. Stobart has given several presentations at the state, regional, and national levels and has published numerous articles in various journals. Dr. Stobart has received an Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award from the Intramural/Recreational Sports Department at the University of Arkansas, three Merit Awards from the South Dakota Association of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, and a Division Merit Award from the Central District Association of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Dr. Stobart has also been on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Leisure and Recreation (AALR), has served as President of the Pittsburg Lions Club and is an active member of PATH (an organization for senior citizens), Southeast Kansas Special Olympics, Pittsburg Beautiful, and the Professional Certification Board of the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association.
