Theme Floors

University Housing is proud to offer two exciting programs within the halls. These programs include Substance Free and Academic Excellence Floors.

Substance Free Floors:

The Substance Free Floors were designed to provide support to students desiring to live in a substance free environment and live amongst other students that share their lifestyle choice.
Students who chose the Substance Free option do so for a variety of reasons. It is the hope and expectation of the University Housing staff that if Pittsburg State students are given support, other students will join them in their efforts when they realize that a positive social and academic life can exist at Pittsburg State without the use of alcohol or other substances.
The Substance Free Floors are located in Tanner Annex 3rd and 4th floors. Both floors offer air-conditioning and network connections.

Academic Excellence Floors:

The Academic Excellence Floors will bring together students desiring to live in an academically based environment. The floors will be designed to bring together students who like a quiet atmosphere that is conductive to studying and concentrating on academics. Quiet hours will remain in effect during all times of the day/night. The floors will also feature programs geared toward being successful academically. The floors will be located on Trout Hall Basement and 1st floors. Trout Hall has network connections and air-conditioning.

If you would like to know more about Pitt State's Theme Floors, contact Melissa Beisel at (620)235-4257.
***Note to parents: If you are filling out paperwork for your son or daughter, please only request Theme Floors only if the future resident wishes to participate. The success of each floor is dependant on the participation of all residents.***
