Campus visitors can obtain a Banana Bucks Card. It is a reusable debit card that can be purchased by patrons that are not students, faculty, or staff at Pittsburg State University. Banana Bucks Card can be purchased for a one time charge of $1.00 at the Cash Value Station in Axe Library. Students, Faculty, and Staff of PSU are able to purchase the Banana Bucks card but are encouraged to use their Gorilla Card for Banana Bucks. After purchasing the debit card, money can be added at the Cash Value Station, Gorilla Card Office, University Housing Office, and the Cashier's Office.

The Banana Bucks Card has several opportunities to be utilized across the PSU campus. The Banana Bucks Card allows the card holder to purchase food at the University Club, the Gorilla Crossing and Gibson Dining Hall, athletic and event tickets at the Ticket Office. Banana Bucks are also accepted at the Axe Library for copiers, microfilm, laser printing and any charges owed. Banana Bucks may be used at the University Bookstore as well.

The Gorilla Card Office encourages anyone using the Banana Bucks Card to register the card with their name by contacting the Gorilla Card Office office at (620) 235-4796 . This allows the Gorilla Card Office to transfer funds of a lost or stolen card to a new card, which can be purchased for $1.00. While the Gorilla Card Office does issue new cards, they are currently unable to transfer balance without prior name association with a Banana Bucks Card. The Banana Bucks Card account will remain open unless it is inactive for five(5) years.
