Mission Statement of ECSO
The goal of the early childhood student organization is to provide professional development, leadership, and social opportunities for individuals interested in early childhood related fields. The great variety of activities and events in which our members are involved makes this an outstanding way to spend time while attending PSU.

Projects/Fundraising
We have conducted fundraising through selling suckers, candles, and butterbraid bread - all money goes toward attending the spring Midwest AEYC conference. Each year we have increased the number of students attending and the student organization has been able to pay a considerable amount toward the trip. This years Midwest AEYC conference is in Nebraska.

*Criteria for Awards*
Outstanding Senior
This award will be given out in both fall and spring to an early
childhood major.
Qualifications - Must be actively involved in ECSO
- Last semester at PSU
- ECSO paid member
- Voluntarily assists other classmates
- Attends conferences, workshops, or ECSO sponsored speaker events
- Is a visible presence around the department
Outstanding Student Award
This award will be given to and Early Childhood major or minor
during the fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications
- Active member in ECSO
- GPA of 3.0
- Helps other students
- Volunteers during meetings without coercion
- Attends conferences, workshops, or ECSO sponsored events
