Come visit with fellow Phi U and FCS alums, tour the FCS building (completed in 2003), as well as listen to an update about Conclave 2008 from Julie Dainty!
Directions to the FCS Building: Once in Pittsburg, take Broadway Street to Ford Avenue and turn west. Turn left (north) onto Joplin Street (PSU Alumni Center is on the corner). The first street you come to is Lindburg Avenue; turn left (east). The FCS Building is the second building on your right (it is between Hartman Hall and Whitesitt Hall).
October 18th is also PSU’s Homecoming Day! There will be a parade along Broadway Street (in downtown Pittsburg), beginning at 9:00AM. At 2:00PM, watch the Gorilla football team take on the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks! If you are interested in attending the game, you can contact the PSU Ticket Office at 620-235-4796 for tickets.
Phi U Alumni Spring 2007 Get-together
Phi U Alumni Reconnect and Rejuvenate! On January 27, Cris Elliot’s home provided the perfect backdrop for numerous conversations of Phi Upsilon Omicron alumni members. Nineteen alumni met to reconnect with fellow society members. The gathering served as a perfect opportunity to catch up with classmates and get acquainted with other members who share a passion for Family and Consumer Sciences.
Janey Higginson, certified herbalist and owner of The Wellness Center in Parsons, Kansas, was the speaker for this event. She spoke about wellness and products to clean our homes in a non-toxic way. Her presentation provided the rejuvenation portion of the afternoon. Did you know that vinegar water in a vaporizer/humidifier kills bacteria in the air of your home? This is invaluable information for this particular time of year. If you missed this time of reconnection, plan to attend our next event this fall.
