Sergeant First Class Ronald Truax was born in Olean, NY in September of 1980. Upon graduating from high school he joined the military. After One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, OK to become a 13B Cannon Crewmember, he was assigned to the 2nd BDE, 3rd Infantry Division where he was deployed in support of Operation Desert Spring which was remissioned to become Operation Iraqi Freedom I.
Among other assignments he has served as Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson, SC and was deployed as a part of the 82nd Airborne Division in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan during the years of 2007-2008, 2009-2010, and 2012. Upon returning from Afghanistan, SFC Truax became the Senior Military Instructor and SMIII Chief at Pittsburg State University.
SFC Truax has multiple awards, including BSM-2, MSM-2, ARCOM-1, and AAM-9 amongst others. SFC Truax is also a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphie Club, a distinguished member of The Order of Saint Barbara and a lifetime member of both the 82nd Airborne Division Association and the VFW.
