Mr. Josh Shay was born and raised in Paola, KS. He was commissioned from Pittsburg State University ROTC in May of 2004. He commissioned as an active duty armor officer and completed the Armor Officer Basic Course in 2005, the AG Captains Career Course in 2011 and Command and General Staff Officers Course in 2015.
His duty stations include Platoon Leader, Co. A 2/70TH Armor, Ft. Riley, KS; OPS Officer, MRX Company, Ft. Riley, KS; LNO, Directorate of Culture and Counter Insurgency Ft. Riley, KS; Assistant Brigade S-3, 1/1 ID, Ft. Riley, KS; 1/1 BDE Transition Team S-1, Ft. Riley, KS; G-1 Ops/Action Officer, 35th ID, Ft. Leavenworth, KS; HHD Commander, 35th ID, Ft. Leavenworth, KS; and Secretary of the General Staff, 35th ID, Fort Leavenworth.
Mr. Shay has received several awards throughout his career which includes Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon.
