Search Process
The Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Office is responsible for monitoring faculty and unclassified staff recruitment and hiring procedures. Pittsburg State University is committed to providing an equal opportunity for all qualified individuals to be considered for employment and for all benefits and conditions of employment. In addition, as an affirmative action employer, the University is committed to taking specific, result-oriented steps to increase the number of historically underrepresented persons and increase overall diversity.
As best practices and laws may change fairly frequently, prior to beginning a search, the department head or the committee chair should contact the Director of Equal Opportunity Jamie Brooksher to schedule an informal equal opportunity training session. The following “Guidelines and Policies for a Successful Search” explains the search process in detail. Feel free to consult with the EO/AA office at any time regarding any issues that arise during a search.
