Program Host/Feature Producer — KRPS Public Radio
KRPS is a non-profit NPR news, classical music, and jazz formatted, 100,000-watt public radio station licensed to Pittsburg State University with a second channel devoted to Hispanic programming. KRPS seeks a dynamic individual committed to working as part of a progressive and professional broadcast team. In addition to hosting a daily on-air shift and reporting on and producing local features, candidate will have a variety of duties. This position will require some travel.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in broadcasting
- Strong demonstrable on-air presence with conversational on-air delivery
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and effectively in a time sensitive environment
- Ability to positively take direction and feedback from supervisors
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Experience in digital recording and digital editing
- The equivalent of two years full-time on-air announcing experience
- The equivalent to one-year full-time experience with broadcast editing and automation software and systems
- Public Radio announcing experience
- On-air fundraising experience
