Biographical Statement

Ms. Freund is originally from Neosho, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration. After working several years as the Assistant Circuit Clerk, St. Louis County, Missouri, she returned to school and earned bachelor's degrees in Economics and computer programming. Additionally, she has an MBA and EdS. from Pittsburg State University (Kansas). She has written numerous case studies are which have been published in Business Policy textbooks. She has written public policy articles on societal issues of education and economic education. Her current research interests include public policy in the areas of economic education and regional economic development. She also has written on supply chain management.

Ms. Freund has taught at Missouri Southern State College and Cottey College prior to coming to PSU. At PSU Ms. Freund served as the Sam Walton Fellow for seven years. During that time, PSU SIFE won International Champion, two first runners up, three ties for Fifth place and one tie for Sixth place. Ms. Freund was inducted into the Sam M Walton Hall of Fame (SIFE). She also served for five years as the Coordinator of Academic Advisement Kelce College of Business, prior to joining the faculty of the Department of Economics, Banking and Finance.
