DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Andrew Au is a professor of art at the Miami University Middletown in Middletown, Ohio. His work includes works on paper, printmaking and sculpture.&nbsp; Au&rsquo;s series of prints and sculpture &ldquo;Life Industries&rdquo; will be on exhibit in the Harry Krug Gallery in Porter Hall from January 18 to March 7, 2013. &nbsp;He will present a public lecture about his work on March 7 from 4:00 &ndash; 5:00 pm in Room 103 Porter Hall. A reception will follow.=0D=0A&ldquo;Life Industries&rdquo; explores product design and manufactured objects seen as living organisms, by replicating images through methods of biological illustration and modeling to create prints and sculpture. His work includes gouache paintings, and silkscreen print methods akin to midcentury advertisements, and sculptural reproductions to create the feeling of a natural history display.=0D=0AHis work has been exhibited nationally at the Loyola University at Chicago, San Diego Art Institute, New Orleans Triennial, College of Notre Dame of&nbsp; Maryland, the Turchin Center for Art,&nbsp; Bowling Green State University of Ohio, and at the University of Minnesota.&nbsp; He has also shown internationally at the 14th Tallinn Print Triennial in Estonia, the 7th Lessedra Print Exhibition in Bulgaria, as well as exhibitions in Canada, Turkey, Iceland, and Denmark. He has had solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans as part of the New Orleans Biennial, at the Project room of Tinlark Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Alice F. and Harris K.
