PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION, INC./OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT
Pittsburg State University has formally secured private support since the organization of the Endowment Association in 1951. The history of private support reaches back to 1914 when the people in Pittsburg raised $150,000 to rebuild Russ Hall that had burned. The Division of Development and Public Relations was organized in the summer of 1984. In 1985, the Alumni Foundation, established in 1970, and the Endowment Association merged to become the Pittsburg State University Foundation, Incorporated.
Pittsburg State University, through the development program, strives to provide funding beyond state support in order to distinguish the University among its peer institutions in the United Sates. That worthy ideal provides a challenge to alumni and friends to assist the University in fulfilling its mission.
The Office of Development at Pittsburg State University is responsible for the overall planning, coordinating, and record keeping aspects of development and fundraising activities.
