Employers Job Posting
The Electrical Program at Pitt State has been training and graduating electrician's for over 55 years. We have 50 electricians in training every semester with well over a thousand alumni around the country in all segments of the electrical industry. If you are an employer with a job vacancy and would like us to post it for graduating students, summer internship's, or for past graduates who are seeking positions please email the information to Jeff Brooks.
The outlook for careers in the electrical field is very good and has been for a number of years. The average electrician is in their late 50's and has or will soon be retiring. The lack of skilled electrical workers to replace them has caused a severe shortage in the marketplace.
A typical starting salary can be between $8.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on which area the student enters (residential, commercial, industrial) their level of job experience, and the area of the country where they work.
Average starting salary for the immediate area is $12.00-15.00 per hour. Salaries are significantly higher in the larger metropolitan areas like Kansas City, Wichita and Tulsa.
