Phi Alpha National Honor Society

Phi Alpha is the national honor society for social work students. The Purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. Students who are members of Phi Alpha wear the Phi Alpha medal at commencement to proudly show their membership.

To qualify for Phi Alpha, students must achieve at least a 3.0 GPA overall and at least a 3.25 GPA in the SW major. Students may apply to Phi Alpha after taking their first 30 hours of coursework.
