Interests, Publications and Presentations

Dr.  Humphries began studying the devolution of the Russian Federation and the development of new class formations in 1993. Much of Dr. Humphries' research has been devoted to understanding the collapse of the former Soviet Union and the reconfiguration of political and economic elites in reference to potential ethnic conflict with an emphasis on nationalist-ethnic identities and Islam.
