"In addition to being a professor of social work and the Director of Pittstate's Social Work Program, I serve, and have done so for the past 32 years, as the municipal judge of Carthage, Missouri where I also reside. Carthage is a town of about 13,000 located in the southwest corner of the state. I commute about 35 miles to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. Being the municipal judge gives me an opportunity to utilize my legal training while at the same time using my social work training to identify those defendants who could profit from intervention rather than punishment. The interaction of law and social work is an area of scholarly interest along with mental health, human development, and substance abuse." - Brad Cameron
