The Department of Physics
at Pittsburg State University
The Department of Physics at Pittsburg State University was founded in 1962 and has been dedicated to the outstanding teaching of undergraduate and graduate physics students ever since. Our faculty members are trained in a wide variety of physics-related fields and have industrial and research laboratory experience. We pride ourselves in getting to know our students and helping them through their years of academic growth at PSU.
The Physics Department is located in the upper two floors of Yates Hall on the Pittsburg State University campus. Yates Hall is located on the corner of Joplin Street and Cleveland Avenue, right across the street from the Axe Library and Carnie Smith Stadium. Within the department are several classrooms, laboratories for teaching and research, computer cluster, tutorial room, and offices for faculty and staff.
