Musical Offerings
Musikgarten Program: The Cycle of Seasons
For children 3-5 years of age

The Cycle of Seasons is part of the Musikgarten sequence of early childhood music and movement
education. The Cycle of Seasons is a musical celebration of the four seasons and features songs,
movement, instruments, sensorial experiences, and creative stories for children. The Cycle of Seasons is a Montessori based and developmentally sound program. It improves the child's verbal, auditory, motor, and creative skills. Classes are a minimum of 30 minutes in length and require parent attendance and participation.
Voice Lessons
For students in 5th grade - adult
Weekly private lessons of 30 minutes will be offered to students who range in age from 5th grade to adult. Lessons will focus on basic musicianship skills, basic vocal technique and solo repertoire as appropriate. It is highly recommended that the school-aged students be involved in their school choral programs as these lessons are intended to serve as enhancements to their school choral experiences rather than in lieu of those experiences.
Piano Lessons
For students in 6th grade - adult
Weekly private lessons of 30 minutes will focus on basic musicianship skills, keyboard technique and solo repertoire as appropriate to the student's level. It is highly recommended that the school aged student be involved in their school's choral or band/orchestra program. Piano lessons will enhance their experience in their school ensembles just as the school ensemble experience will enhance their experiences at the piano.
Traditional Strings, Wind and Percussion Lessons
For students in 6th grade - adult
Weekly private lessons of 30 minutes will be offered to students who range in age from 6th grade-adult. It is highly recommended that the school-aged students be involved in their school band/orchestra programs as these lessons are intended to serve as enhancements to their school ensemble experiences rather than in lieu of those experiences.
Suzuki String Lessons
For students K - adult

The Scott Nelson Suzuki String Studio (violin and viola) is a blended string program for grades K and up. Students are taught not only how to play by listening, a key foundation concept in the Suzuki method, but also how to read and play written music. Students are successfully reading music in a short time with the advantage of the Suzuki music literature. Recitals are held in the Fall and Spring in the McCray recital hall and all students are encouraged to participate with a solo piece and also group performance in the recital. A key benefit to the group performance is to prepare students for ensemble work in middle and high school.
