International Management Certificate Program
Pittsburg State University's Kelce College of Business is excited to announce a partnership with Corp Craft of Bangalore, India to offer a management certificate program. The objective of the certificate program is to provide executives and students with cutting edge management knowledge required to successfully operate in today's global environment. The certificate programs will be taught by experienced management faculty members of Pittsburg State University who possess advanced degrees and relevant real-world experience and will be led by two experienced faculty members, Dr. Jay Van Wyk and Dr. Mujtaba Ahsan. The faculty members will be teaching the following two certificate programs in India during Summer 2011:
- Executive Global Management Certificate Program (for working professionals in managerial/leadership positions)
- Leadership and Management Certificate Program (for students and recent graduates)

Profile of Faculty
Dr. Jay Van Wyk, Ph.D.
Dr. Van Wyk has a dual doctorate in International Business and in Political Science. He is a tenured Associate Professor in International Business in the Department of Management & Marketing, in the Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University. He previously held academic positions at the University of New Mexico, Rhodes University and the University of Johannesburg. He has lectured and conducted research in Africa, Europe and North America. He was also a small business entrepreneur, exporter and business and political consultant. His research interests focus on risk management, foreign direct investment, the influence of culture on business, and the internationalization of Multinational Enterprises from Emerging Markets. His recent publications appeared in Long Range Planning, Thunderbird International Business Review, Business & Society, and South African Journal of Economics and Management.
Dr. Mujtaba Ahsan, Ph.D.
Dr. Ahsan is a tenured Assistant Professor of Management at Pittsburg State University where his teaching responsibilities include Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship and Organization Theory and Behavior. He received his doctorate in Strategic Management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Ahsan worked at an e-commerce firm where he was involved in developing customized applications for small-and-medium sized firms. He also worked at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), a premier research institution located in Bangalore, India where he was a part of the team involved in developing nanotechnology.
Dr. Ahsan's research interests include technology innovation and management, decision-making under uncertainty, strategic alliances, international business, offshoring, and entrepreneurship. His research on these topics has been published or is forthcoming in the following journals: Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Current Topics in Management, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Strategy & Management, Academy of Information and Management Sciences Journal, International Journal of Data Mining, Modelling and Management, Journal of Managerial Issues, and Strategic Management Review.
