Dr. Jay van Wyk

Dr. Jay van Wyk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing and the Esch Family Fellow in International Business. Dr. van Wyk received a B.A. and B.A. Honours degrees from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He holds three masters degrees: MBA from Purdue University, MBA from Tilburg University in The Netherlands and a Masters in Political Science from University of Pretoria. He holds a PhD in Political Science/International Relations (Pretoria) and he will complete his PhD in International Business from Tilburg University in the fall of 2006. Dr. van Wyk teaches courses in International Business, Cross Cultural Communications and International Marketing. His research interests focus on risk --- formation and management --- in emerging markets. He is particularly interested in the impact of risk on foreign direct investment and national competitiveness. He maintains an on-going interest in the interface between politics and business in the international environment. With more than 30 peer reviewed articles and two books, Dr. van Wyk's recent publications have appeared in Long Range Planning, Thunderbird International Business Review, and Supply Chain Forum: An International Journal. He is a member of various professional associations: The Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, British Academy of Management and the International Studies Association |
